What people are saying about our Classes

Yoga is a discipline that has been practiced for over 5,000 years.  It is comprised of a series of body positions and movements developed to help relax the body and calm the mind through breath control, physical exercise and meditation.

Yoga is one of the many modalities we offer at Mountain Waves to achieve the union of body, mind and spirit.  Breath work is included in all of our classes to allow deeper healing to take place.  Students leave yoga class feeling restored, energized, calm and balanced.  Different styles and levels of yoga are offered to meet the varying needs of clients.  Special workshops are also periodically offered to deepen one's practice.  All levels of yoga practitioners are welcomed in our classes.   We invite you to start where you are; our teachers are skilled at assisting students and creating a healing space within the community of Mountain Waves.

As for the physical benefits of yoga, numerous research studies have demonstrated its effectiveness for relieving lower back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, osteoarthritis, stress, anxiety and depression.  Yoga has been shown to improve the conditions of people with heart disease and diabetes [1], mental health disorders, asthma, high blood pressure and high cholesterol [2] [3] and multiple sclerosis[4].
